Our story
Why Kite exists
It started with one family's mortgage.
Before Kite was an app, it was a spreadsheet: a visual model of a home loan — what was owed, what was actually owned, and what paying it down faster would save. The family had heard it all before. Seeing it laid out is what finally made them act.
Kite means to see.
In te reo Māori, kite means to see, to perceive. That's the whole idea. Most people can't see the wealth they've built in their home, or the moves open to them. Kite shows it, worked out from their own numbers — so what one generation builds, the next can see and build on.
Built in Aotearoa.
Kite is built in New Zealand by Kite Wealth Limited. It won the Kura Roa Award for Māori innovation at the 2026 UoA Velocity Ideas Challenge.
Where it's going.
New Zealand first, then everywhere people own property. One analyst for every property, every loan, every move.
Kite is information, not advice.
