Install Kite

Kite, in its own window.

Install it and Kite gets its own icon, opens without browser chrome, and keeps working when the connection does not. Your properties never leave your device.

There is no installer to download and nothing to trust: Kite installs from the browser you are already using, and updates itself the next time you open it.

On your machine

Windows

Chrome or Edge

  1. Open Kite in Chrome or Edge.
  2. Click the install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar.
  3. Choose Install. Kite opens in its own window and lands in your Start menu.

macOS

Safari, Chrome or Edge

  1. In Safari, open Kite and choose File → Add to Dock.
  2. In Chrome or Edge, use the install icon in the address bar instead.
  3. Kite appears in Launchpad and the Dock like any other app.

Android

Chrome

  1. Open Kite in Chrome.
  2. Tap the ⋮ menu, then Add to Home screen.
  3. Confirm Install. Kite gets its own icon and opens without browser chrome.

iPhone and iPad

Safari

  1. Open Kite in Safari — this does not work from Chrome on iOS.
  2. Tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
  3. Tap Add. Kite opens full screen from your home screen.

With no connection

Kite works out your position on your own device, so most of it does not need a network at all.

  • Scenarios and projections — the engine runs on your device
